Remember how I had all these great aspirations for things I was going to do this summer?
And remember how summer is officially over on Monday?
Well, let's check up on these grand plans of mine.
Didn't read as much as I would like, but I did read some. And I would highly recommend these books:
Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli
Love, Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Schaffer
Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen
Same Kind of Different As Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore
(I haven't taken an English class in forever... are book titles supposed to be italicized or underlined?)
All truly amazing books. Check 'em out!!
I actually feel pretty good about my cooking skills now! I'm certainly no pro, but I can follow a recipe with confidence.
I ran my half marathon last Saturday!!!! It was an amazing feeling to accomplish that. My dad and I ran the whole thing together and had SO much fun talking and laughing. The last mile was really rough, and I wanted to quit, but my dad wouldn't let me and I'm so glad I didn't. I pushed myself harder than I ever have in my life and it felt incredible!! I finished in 2 hrs and 12 minutes, which I feel is a respectable time. Especially since I wasn't aiming to win or anything.
I did pretty well. Not quite well enough that I'll be going to my first piano lesson this fall with total confidence, but I feel good about what I've done. Rhapsody in Blue is pretty much learned! I just need to polish it.
I feel SO great about my accomplishments this summer!!! I have a hard time sticking to goals sometimes, and this is probably the best I've ever done. None of these things fell completely by the wayside. And I'm going to take this great feeling of accomplishment, set some new goals for my new semester at college, and run with them.
Bring it on, Fall Semester 2010!!
Oh, and p.s. I've been majorly slacking on my blogging lately:
What is that? 4 posts in 2 months! Ridiculous. I'm gonna be better. You better be excited!
