Back in the Day.

Ever seen one of these?

I hadn't either. At least not for a looooooooong time.
(I think one of my teachers in junior high had one, and he was old.)

Ah, the good old Kodak Carousel Slide Projector.

And lucky me, I got to play with one at work for about a week.

The archivist I work for had several boxes of slides from a teacher that taught a course on Fashion at USU in the 70's or 80's. My task was to simply go through the slides and identify them so an inventory could be made.

At first I was quite dreading the idea of looking through loads of slides, but when I saw the first one I quickly changed my mind. It was truly quite entertaining to look through and see how clothes have changed since then, and also how many things have stayed the same. I only wish I had had someone fashion-savvy like Leslie or Stephanie with me to help me fully appreciate these photos.

Anyway, without further ado, enjoy the photos:
(Oh, and ignore the weird angles and lighting and slight blurred-ness, all these photos were taken on my iPhone, and taken of the projections of the slides on the wall.)

I actually think all of the above images are okay! Maybe a few are a bit out of date, but I think some of the outfits could still be worn today. However, while the above are interesting, I think I saved the best for last. I had such a hard time holding in my laughter when I saw these last few little treats. Please, Enjoy.

Oh, the plaid suits. Why did we ever do away with them?

So... it's a skirt. WAIT! Nope. It's pants! Good thing they finally figured out a way to accommodate those people who suffer from that unfortunate "my right leg is significantly bigger than my left leg" syndrome.

Aww. Now isn't that just precious?

And for this final delight, I have no words.
except for this: HAHAHA!

I love my job!

Yeah, that Mondrian dress is the coolest dress I've ever seen. And I will make a double person sweater just for you and me, Ashley. Or maybe for a wedding present. Isn't getting paid to look at old pictures the best??
