North and South

he resembles Hugh Jackman, no?
Once upon a time over the summer, my sister, mom, aunts, and cousins were all trying to persuade me to watch this little 4-part BBC movie called North and South, which is based on a book by Elizabeth Gaskell. I kind of ignored their prodding because...

I just wasn't in the mood?

Who knows.

Well, I finally got around to watching the first and second parts over the weekend.  It's very Pride and Prejudice-esque. And I quite liked it, although it is pretty sad/tragic/dark in some parts. It juxtaposes a romance with working-class struggles in Europe, which are sometimes painful to watch, though it's definitely thought-provoking.

Life got busy and I didn't have time to finish it until last night. Because I had some things get cancelled and ended up with a bunch of extra time(!).

Texted my sister, and this is what happened:

No, part 4 isn't four hours long.
I had a homework/exercise intermission between parts 3 & 4.

The end... OOOOH MY GOSH SOOOO GOOD!!!  Seriously the greatest movie kiss I have ever seen!

And I've seen a lot of movies.

Honestly, Mr. Thornton now rivals Mr. Darcy in my book. And that's really saying something, cause who could ever come close to Mr. Darcy? (Mr. Darcy still wins. But it's REALLY close.)  If you haven't seen this movie, get yourself a Netflix account (it's free for the first month!) or rent it NOW.  Cause you need to watch it.

However, this may cause brief longing and sadness if you don't have a dashingly handsome man in your life right now...

But mostly, it's just amazing.

That's all.
