What is Love?

Other than the obvious "baby don't hurt me, don't hurt me, no more" answer, I think this video does a great job of explaining it. To me, a huge part of love is serving others, and this man is a wonderful example of making tremendous sacrifices for the love of his life.  This made me all teary. I love love.

There were a few things that happened today that made me feel a little annoyed with this day of love. I found myself getting all woe-is-me and wishing I had someone special to share it with.  But, just when I was feeling especially blah, I got the sweetest email from my momma, telling me how much she loved me. She reminded me that Heavenly Father loves me, too, and if I trust in His timing I have nothing to fear. Her words were exactly what I needed to hear. While I often find myself impatiently waiting for my eternal companion to show up, I do know that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me so much, and He knows what's best for me and when it's best for me. And, in the meantime, He has blessed me with incredible family and friends who are truly the most wonderful people in the world. I didn't have a romantic Valentine's day, but I sure felt loved. I am a lucky girl.

Happy V-day!

Ashley, I love the new layout. It is so cute!! And I love the video, so neat.

Aren't moms the best? I told my mom yesterday that I hoped I never had a Valentine's Day like that ever again-totally "woe-is-me"-and she said, "Heavenly Father is making your Prince into Prince Charming right now. He'll come around sooner than you think." I love your reminders and testimony, as usual. Thank you so much for sharing!

someone once asked me if love was more of a noun or verb. i fell in love with that question and fell even more in love with the answer. i still think it's both but i stand more firmly on the verb side. love is doing for others.
