A Photobook of Jack

101 in 1001 #2: Make a photo book of Jack's first year, and finish his milestone book || 1/2 Complete June 2018: Make a photo book of Jack's first year.

My mom is basically a scrapbook and photobook master.

As evidenced in my post about our wedding photo book (which my mom basically did all of, and I just re-printed), she just has a talent for making things look pretty.

I didn't inherit that talent.

My mom did say that it's actually not that hard to put pretty photobooks together, but that it does tend to take a lot of time and patience.  It's a creative outlet for her, and she enjoys spending hours and hours perfecting it.

Me, on the other hand? Well, I get frustrated with it really easily, and then impatient, and then I just abandon it. In theory, I would love to have really pretty photobooks that looked super fancy, but at this point in my life I just don't have the patience.

Enter Chatbooks.

I've heard a lot of good things about Chatbooks and how simple they are, and cost-effective too. I've been wanting to print a photobook of all the pictures from Jack's first year (and we're almost coming up on his second, crazy!) and I have approximately 1,000 pictures of him (wish I were exaggerating) so I knew I wanted something simple and quick.

I uploaded all the pictures using the app on my phone, and then I logged in on my computer to put in the finishing touches like captions etc., and from start to finish it probably took me 2 hours total.

Which was just perfect for my little impatient self. :)

I decided to upgrade to the hardcover, and I used one of their pre-made covers which I think are super cute! I also did the 8x8 size, and I really, really love the way this turned out! No, it's nothing super fancy. And with 250 pictures (it was hard to narrow down to even that few!) and only one picture per page (as that's all Chatbooks will allow) it's a FAT book, haha. But I'm still obsessed. I'm also really impressed with the quality of the book, and It's so fun to have in our home. Jack and I have already looked at it together about 5 times!

I'm so pleased to have this project done, and I think I'll be using Chatbooks a lot more.

Happy Friday!
